BRIEF REVIEW:

The visit was organised by TIAD on 10 June, 2017, Duration of the visit was two hours from 11 AM to 1 PM.

Students and the teachers reached the Makerspace by 10 45 AM and met Mr.Ali Tin Wala and his colleagues.

Students were divided into two batches each one guided by one maker at the Centre.

They explained the processes and introduced the equipment such as vinyl cutter, laser engraver, soldering equipment, wood carvers and borers to our students.

Our students were excited to see the laser engraver in action which made fidgets, which the boys and girls are fascinated about.

They watched the wooden carvers making beautiful shapes out of a wooden block and learnt about the safety measures followed when working with such equipment.

Also, our students watched soldering, making shapes out of molten rubber, 3D reflected images and wooden borer.

The most exciting moment was when our students were allowed to operate the laser equipment to make fidgets and key chains from vinyl.

The students were given answers to questions such as are young adults under the age of 18 are allowed to use the space, Does the Makerspace offer classes on how to use its equipment safely and basic classes are offered for all equipment, and so on and so forth.

Students and the teachers spoke to the Team of maker space for taking the idea forward and left for the school by 1 PM
