  • By interacting positively during Parents Council Meeting with the Principal.
  • By meeting the Principal, Supervisor and Teachers for discussions, whenever necessary with prior appointment.
  • Attending Parent –Teacher Meetings which provide a venue for a better understanding of the school and the child.

Parent Body

Parents are their child’s first and most enduring educators. When parents and practitioners work together in Foundation Stage/ Kindergarten Settings, the results have a positive impact on children’s development and learning. All families are important and are welcomed and valued in all settings. Parents and practitioners have a lot to learn from each other. This can help them to support and extend children’s learning development. Parents should review their children’s progress regularly and contribute to their child’s learning and development record. Parents can be helped to understand more about learning and teaching through workshops on important areas such as play, outdoor learning or early reading. Some parents may go on to access further education at their own level. In true partnership, parents understand and contribute to the policies.

The Indian Academy advocates Parents as an integral part in the development of the children. Through the years, the voice of the parent has always been of utmost importance to us and we are always willing to carefully consider any feedback they give us. Parent representative body is instrumental in guiding and encouraging the school with the views and concerns of the parents they represent. They serve as a link between the School and the general parent body with the aim of making The Indian Academy a truly global school. They help in fostering academic, social, cultural and physical development thus preparing children to take their place in the world.

Parents’ meetings are held every term during which suggestions received through the month are addressed. Term meetings also ensure that decisions taken are followed up on. The Group consists of selected parents from each grade across the school. All parents are welcome to volunteer and the representatives are selected by a random draw of lots. The members hold term for one academic year.
