Student care and support
The school recognizes the value of, and seeks to achieve, a diverse school community that includes people from differing backgrounds, with different skills and abilities. Parent involvement
Parents are responsible for informing the school of any changes in home circumstances that may affect their child's wellbeing. If children require additional support for their social and emotional wellbeing, this will be discussed with parents at every step so that the school and home work together to support the children's needs.
Curriculum Support
At TIAD we strive to ensure that all students have access to a broad and balanced curriculum. We take a graduated approach to differentiating and modifying our curriculum to meet the needs of our students.
Differentiated Instruction: The implementation of differentiated instructional strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students. This includes adapting curriculum content, teaching methods and assessment approaches to meet varying levels of readiness, interests and learning styles.
Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): The development and implementation of individualized education plans for students with special education needs or disabilities. IEPs set out specific goals, adaptations and support services tailored to the student’s particular learning needs.
Learning support services: Provide specialized learning support services, such as learning resource teachers and special education teachers who work with students individually or in small groups. They provide targeted interventions and additional instruction to help students overcome learning difficulties.
Enrichment and extension activities: We offer enrichment and extension opportunities to students who need additional challenges beyond the normal curriculum. These include advanced courses, enrichment programs, research projects, participation in competitions, and extracurricular activities that stimulate higher-order thinking and deepen learning.
Peer tutoring and collaborative learning: We encourage peer tutoring and collaborative learning experiences. This fosters a sense of community, supports social interaction and enhances learning through collaborative problem solving and knowledge sharing.
Parent and community engagement: involve parents and the wider community in supporting curriculum outcomes. Work with parents through regular communication, coffee mornings, workshops and involvement in school activities.
Counselling
Counselling students in school plays a critical role in promoting their social, emotional, and mental well-being. School counsellors provide guidance, support, and intervention to help students overcome challenges, develop important skills, and enhance their overall development. help our students learn in a positive environment where they learn to show respect and are treated with equality and dignity.

Individual, group or classroom instruction based on individual/group needs, social-emotional learning (SEL), referrals and collaboration, prevention programs, parent and family support, and collaboration with school staff.
Career Guidance
Career guidance plays an important role in helping students explore their interests, strengths and aspirations and make informed decisions about their future careers.
TIAD offers students the opportunity to explore various career options and learn about different fields and industries through career fairs, career talks, guest speakers, industry visits and career-related workshops. We conduct career tests and aptitude tests to help students identify their strengths, interests and skills. These tests can provide valuable insights and clues to match students’ skills and preferences with appropriate career choices. Also offer a wide range of career information resources such as career catalogues, online databases and websites to help students research different careers, educational pathways and required qualifications. Ensure that students have access to current and accurate information. Hire qualified career counsellors who can provide one-on-one guidance and counselling to students. These counsellors help students explore their career options, set goals and develop action plans to achieve their career aspirations. They also provide guidance on university admissions, scholarships and entrance exams. Facilitate student opportunities for internships, apprenticeships or work-based learning experiences. These experiences allow students to apply their knowledge to the real world, gain practical skills and make informed career decisions. Involve parents in the career guidance process by organizing workshops or parent-teacher meetings that address career planning. Provide parents with resources and guidance to help them support their children in exploring career options and making informed decisions.
